Edinburgh Christmas Feis 2020

This year the annual Edinburgh Christmas Feis will be going digital. This means that entries will be open to all the usual dances, grades & age groups and by going digital it means that teachers will take videos of each dance & dancer and submit all their entries by video. All the normal WIDA competition & costume rules will apply.

Important dates;

Entries must be paid by November 20th, Videos must be completed by December 4th,

Results will be out 13th December.

Before entering please check and consider the following;

Dance Shoes >

  • If you have heavy shoe dances you may want to check your heavy shoes. If you do not have a pair to use you may want to consider dancing soft shoes only! (This may effect premierships where dancers have 1 soft shoe and 1 heavy shoe dance as well as solo dances).

Costumes

  • Beginner dancers will require a green skirt & white polo shirt. Beginner dancers in age groups U13 or above may wear class costume (see details below).

  • Primary, Intermediate may wear green skirt & white polo shirt or a class costume. Unfortunately our current class costumes are not available but for the time being our class costume will consist of ALL BLACK (dancers own plain black skirt & plain black long sleeve top) and a green sash belt. We can provide dancers with their very own belt to keep for £3 if class costume is an option. As long as a minimum of five dancers have this attire it will comply with class costume rules. Any Intermediate dancers in the age groups U13 or above may wear solo costumes.

  • Open dancers, if they have their own then solo costumes can be worn.

Video times >

  • Taking the videos will take a little time, not only do dancers need to be prepared with shoes and costumes but we also have to arrange the hall to do this. For dancers who have more than 2 dances then video dance days will be arranged on Sunday 22nd & Friday 28th November to facilitate this. There will be no cost for the extra video class days however in order to get the video entries these dancers will be required to attend 1 or maybe 2 video dance days.  (There are different video options for Musselburgh dancers, just get in touch for info).
